LeoCAD and LDraw: when you need named parts
LeoCAD is a desktop brick-modeling application. Its official site documents LDR and MPD file support, compatibility with the LDraw standard, and building instructions with multiple steps and submodels. It is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
LDraw is the file-format and parts-library ecosystem used by compatible tools. It is not a one-click photo-to-model service. Choose this route when you can create or obtain a digital model and need to control individual pieces and the sequence.
A model file gives you more explicit information than an AI picture, but you still need to check connections, part availability and the build order. Software output alone does not replace a physical test.
Official manuals and Blender solve different needs
If you own an official set, look up its number in LEGO’s instruction service before reconstructing it from a photo. An existing manual is usually the most direct starting point for that exact set.
For animation where you must control object positions, camera movement and timing, Blender provides keyframes and animation tools. You must supply or build the scene and animate it. It is a more hands-on route than uploading a finished-model photo to BrickGPT.

This website runs in a browser and generates visual media from a finished-model image. A subscription here does not give you access to a desktop CAD application or the research project.

- Write down the deliverable: a visual image, an editable model, a tested manual or a controlled animation.
- Check the input you actually have. A photo and a model file are not interchangeable.
- Inspect an example or the official documentation for that deliverable before paying or starting a large project.
